Last week's Country House and Fine Interiors Auction was certainly action-packed.
Leading the way were some light fittings from the Titanic’s sister ship the RMS Olympic, which, after a bidding battle between a bidder in the room and another on the telephone from Holland, were eventually sold for a combined £42,650 inc fees.
There was other strong interest from across the globe as bidders lined up to acquire the items on show. Other highlights included a Chinese 'Sang-de Boeuf' vase with ormolu mounts at £5,850; a selection of oak furniture by Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thomson and Thomas ‘Gnomeman’ Whittaker which fetched a collective £16,315; and a well carved 19th Century tripod table which fetched £5,460.
Here are some of the highlights.
All prices shown are inclusive of fees.
