Curated by our silver specialist, Alexis Butcher, our Fine Silver Auction presents an extraordinary selection of antique and modern silver, featuring rare and historically significant pieces from England, Europe, China, Russia, America, and India. Highlights include a rare Edward IV silver diamond-point spoon from around 1470, and an exquisite pair of George III silver tea caddies by Pierre Gillois.
We are also very excited to be selling a private collection of silver made in the Channel Isles during the late 18th and early 19th Centuries. These rare pieces, made in both Jersey and Guernsey, include many spoons, Christening cups and mugs.
Furthermore, we have two additional private collections of Scottish provincial silver, which is not to be missed!

It isn't often that a client is able to contribute 200 watches to an auction, but this auction isn't typical. Top of the bill, and beating its big brother for once, is an Ultra-Rare Tudor Montecarlo. The usual dial for this watch was grey with black subsidiaries, but the piece offered in Lot 439 has the inverse, and is one of only a handful known. Seventeen Rolex watches including a Steve McQueen, thirty-three Omegas including a 321 Speedmaster, an AP, an IWC Big Pilot, and so much more great stuff for investors, collectors and even those who just want to know what time it is without checking their phone or consulting with Alexa.

Anderson & Garland are proud to bring to market a particularly outstanding collection of Fine Jewellery. Top of the bill and catching all eyes is Lot 714 - a magnificent 25-carat Burmese sapphire and diamond brooch, which is over 150 years old. An enormous diamond bow-pattern brooch of an even earlier period, Lot 711, is offered for the same vendor, and boasts a total carat weight of over 23-carats.
There is a plethora of bug and butterfly brooches in this auction, including a large gem-set butterfly that works wonderfully as a hairpiece, a fly brooch with three flies hanging below, and a beautiful dragonfly brooch which is set with a natural baroque pearl.
As always, we curate the auctions carefully to ensure all markets have something to interest them. Please do let us know if we can help with enquiries including grading and condition.

We are delighted to present our inaugural standalone Fine Asian Art Auction showcasing an exceptional selection of Chinese ceramics and art, highlighted by a rare blue and white dragon vase from the Kangxi period. Of elegant shouldered ovoid form with a short trumpet neck, this exquisite piece is adorned with intricate underglaze blue decoration, depicting two dragons in pursuit of flaming pearls above cresting waves. The neck features delicate floral and leaf sprigs, while the base bears a six character Chenghua mark.
This remarkable vase is a testament to the artistry of the Kangxi period and carries a distinguished provenance originating from the esteemed collection of James Leathart, a prominent Newcastle lead manufacturer and renowned patron of the arts. Leathart was an avid collector of both fine art and Chinese porcelain, with his holdings including works by James Whistler and Dante Gabriel Rossetti. His collection was widely admired, with many pieces now housed in major galleries. Over time, much of his collection was dispersed by his descendants, making this vase a rare surviving artefact from his original assemblage. Alongside this highlight, the auction features a carefully curated selection of other fine Chinese ceramics, including famille rose figural vases, a Longquan celadon glazed Chrysanthemum vase, and a Kangxi period blue and white dish, which is also from the Leathart collection.

A selection of fine art created over the span of several centuries and a witness to the past. From an 18th Century tavern sign, its gilt armorial crest ushering in revellers in a post-Civil War Britain, to a pen and ink sketch by John Serres depicting the wrecking of the ship Prosperine in 1799, and a delicate portrait of Florence Nightingale, comfortable in her own bed towards the end of her life. The auction includes a good collection of prints by Burne-Jones, Augustus John and James Whistler, illustrations for book covers, miniatures, and notable works by John Frederick Herring Snr, Sir Frank Brangwyn, and Norman Cornish.
