Opaque twist wine glass, attributed to Beilby, the round funnel bowl painted with fruiting vines in white enamel, on double series opaque twist stem with pair of multi-ply (eight approx) spiral thread bands enclosing four spiral threads, on conical foot, mid 18th Century, height 14.5cms. See illustration PROVENANCE Lot 118 dated 2nd September 1986 Anderson & Garland, Newcastle upon Tyne, £507.60. NOTE It has been observed that this opaque twist stem form was much favoured by Beilby.
