A mid 18th Century Purim plate, probably German, engraved with a scene of Mordechai on horseback, led by Haman, in the border (in Hebrew) ''Shushan'' and with inscription above them in Hebrew ''Borukh Mordekhai, arrur Homon'' (''Blessed is Mordechai, cursed is Haman''), a central band with Hebrew inscription ''Kokho yay'oseh lo'ish asher hamelekh khofetz bikoroy'' (''So shall be done to the man whom the king wishes to honour'') above a panel of wriggle work, dated within the border ''Tof kuf yud leperek koton'' - ''510 of the small cycle'' )i.e. the year 5510 from creation corresponding to 1749/1750 CE(, verso with makers touchmark of ''LS'', 9 1/4in. (23.5cms) wide.
