A 17th Century German plug bayonet, circa 1690, the 11in. (28cms) tapering blade with crown king mark, the hilt with turned rosewood grip and brass cross guard and pommel, both with busts of helmeted soldiers, 17 3/4in. (45cms); and later leather scabbard. Note: There is remnants of guiding to the bottom of the one side of the blade which looks like 'WIII' which could have ties to William of Orange, King at the time of manufacturer.
