Our Fine Pictures collection features a stunning view of Venice’s Grand Canal, attributed to a follower of Canaletto. Other highlights include enchanting regional scenes by celebrated Northern artist Ralph Hedley, along with portraits by beloved British painters such as Sir John Edward Millais and Norman Stansfield Cornish.
For miniature enthusiasts, the auction includes a selection of charming portraits, such as a finely painted 18th-century miniature of a Georgian nobleman attributed to John Smart, a collector’s gem from the era.
Furniture aficionados will delight in an array of impressive pieces, from a fine collection by renowned craftsman Robert ‘Mouseman’ Thompson, including custom-made dining furniture designed specifically for a grand Northumbrian estate, to large and impressive George III pieces including a masterfully inlaid mahogany bookcase and an elm bacon settle.
